WKU-PDC-20 12-052: You are invited to bid on supplying all equipment, materials, labor, permits, etc. for the Downing University Center: Bid
Package #3 Renovations & Additions on the campus of Western Kentucky University.
Mr. Dan Chaney, Project Manager shall be in charge of this project. Please contact
Warren Whitfield, Manager of Construction Purchasing by e-mail at warren.whitficld@,wku.edu for any information or clarifications you may need about the bid. As soon as an answer is available it will be e-mailed back to you. If it affects the bid specifications, a written Advice of Change will be issued to all bidders.
This is a prevailing wage job. There shall be no changes made to the bid documents without being in writing from the Department of Purchasing. Western Kentucky University is an equal opportunity employer.
The Downing University Center serves as WKU's hub for student activity. The building
was originally constructed in 1969, and has experienced minor projects since including
an addition, new faqade, and various interior upgrades. This project will be a major
renovation of the approximately 250,000 SF building including demolition, additional,
build-outs, all building systems (mechanical, plumbing, electrical), food service venues,
interior finishes, etc. Project duration is approximately two years, and building will be partially occupied throughout construction.
There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting with Mr. Chaney on Tuesday, May 1 5,2012
at 10:OO AM CST located in the Dowling University Center, Room 226. This meeting is mandatory and all vendors wishing to submit a bid are required to attend or your bid will be rejected. Subcontractor's attendance is not mandatory, however they are welcome to attend. There is also a follow-up pre-bid meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 24,2012 at 10:OO AM CST located in the Downing University Center Room 226 (the follow-up pre-bid meeting is not mandatory).
